A song that makes your heart skip a beat?
‘Jesse’ by Scott Walker. In a nutshell it's Elvis confiding in his stillborn twin brother in the shadow of the World Trade Center. It's beautiful but also fucking terrifying. There's footage of him tracking the vocals in the shadows of the studio, gave me shivers.
If your life were a film it would be?
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World. Me and my girlfriend were talking this over the other day and realized it's basically me. It's kickass. Scrap Brain is Sex Bob-Omb, man! Which I guess makes me a ginger but you can't have everything.
The last film you watched that made you cry?
The latest Harry Potter. I have this disorder where truly fucking terrible films trigger the pain sensors in my brain.
If you were looking to impress a date or partner which signature dish of yours would you cook?
I can't cook for shit. I'd buy something half decent from Waitrose and drown it in Tabasco. She can't say it doesn't taste good if her taste buds no longer exist. And no one ever wants to be a pussy and say it's too hot for them.
A guilty pleasure of yours you can't seem to quit?
Slayer. But "guilty" only because I used to be a snobby tool about them before I learned to stop worrying and love the thrash. It feels like I sold out or something. I also think I might be a closet Grey's Anatomy fan but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.”
