Talk me through an average day in the life of you?
I've got a place in Brooklyn and West Hollywood. I spend a lot of time with Virgin America.
Describe yourself as a kid?
I was the super nerdy kid who lived in the photo lab. I'm not totally sure the town I grew up in really understood what I was about.
Has much changed now that you are fully grown?
I think they get it now.
Oh I think they do!
How did you discover photography when you were younger and what did you find so appealing about the medium that made you decide to pursue this as a profession?
My dad went to RISD. He gave me his Nikon F3 when I was 14 and I was hooked.
Model vs. Entertainment Personality; what are the differences when working on a shoot and does one creature bring something the other doesn't (and vice versa)?
I really enjoy the collaborative aspect of working with actors. Generally they're committed to helping you create something on set.
Where do you find inspiration on a daily basis for your work?
I spend a lot of time on tumblr and I've got a pretty solid collection of books; Avedon, Ritts, Newton etc.
Quite the coffee table selection!
Which photographers working in the industry today get YOU excited for photography?
I'm inspired by the idea of being a working photographer - being hired to take pictures is an incredible gift. Anyone that works a lot on a high level inspires me - even if I'm not into their photography.
A guilty pleasure you can't seem to quit?
The Boston Red Sox but I'm not sure pleasure is the right word.
What never fails to make you smile?
My dog Waffle.
Which item in your closet gets most wear and why?
My Kelly Cole Deadstock vintage t shirts, my Simon Spurr black chinos and my white Superga’s.
If you could be an animal for the day, what animal would you be?
Oh a dog for sure.
Thanks you Eric! Such a pleasure to be able to feature you and your amazing work.
