Don't even get me started on the video, it's a bit of a mess. The shots I love (where Vince spins around outside) are far too few and Vanessa (the fittie who sings all the hard bits in The Saturdays) looks, um, not her best.
Whilst I like what they tried to do here watching Vince dance uncomfortably adorned in cheap looking accessories is not something I endorse, and there's a lot of that in this video. Be warned. And yet, this video has been on repeat since yesterday. Why? The song is fucking amazing! For sure, the verses at first sound all kinds of wrong and a little too forced but when the chorus kicks in... wow. It's got that mad Miike Snow swagger running through it's veins, and it's proper catchy. Vanessa's bit is pretty good also, so it's a little strange that she only gets to sing a few lines but I'll take what I can get and I like her inclusion here.
Not really sure how this will do in the charts tbh but it should be Vince's first number one if folk have any sense. I'll also warn you that after one too many plays of this video you will start to rethink your original stance on the visuals. You may even find yourself googling 'plastic butterflies'... FFS. Welcome to the Zoo, indeed.
Vince Kidd's EP The Zoo is out 2nd June 2013.
