As you well know, Nicola Formichetti was brought in to reboot Diesel as their new Creative Director. What you might not have expected from the talented creative though, is a campaign cast made up of super interesting characters he found through word of mouth and Tumblr, along with a few fierce models that buck your 'typical' casting trend.
The 20 people chosen to front the campaign primarily live in New York, work in artistic fields and are visually anything but wallflowers. They include a graffiti artist, an aspiring filmmaker and former Olympic swimmer Casey Legler, who has already broken gender barriers as the first woman with a contract as a male Ford Model.
Formichetti explained to wwd that the photos are meant to merge classic portraiture with the sensibilities of the current generation of digital influencers. Which is why, if you like what you see each portrait includes the model's social media deets so you can legit stalk them to your heart's content.
