Thomas Knights has been working on a new exhibition titled RED HOT which looks to dispel the many stigmas attached to being a ginger male in this world. He asks the question; Why does society perceive the red headed woman as the ultimate in drop dead sexy - Julianne Moore, Jessica Chastain, Jessica Rabbit - whilst their male counterparts in film and TV are often painted as funny little creatures that have limited sexual appeal. And I think he might be onto something, having found myself on many an occasion mocking David Caruso in public to then find myself a few hours later in the privacy of my own home gazing admiringly at photos of him investigating crime scenes, wishing I could reach into each photograph and run my fingers through his magical ginger mane.
Thomas isn't wrong when he says that no other hair colour has this level of gender inequality in any society, and his new exhibition is looking to address the imbalance by showcasing lots and lots of beautiful ginger haired boys that he photographed for the project.
The RED HOT Exhibition will be showing at 'The Gallery' in Redchurch Street, London, on 16th - 22nd December 2013. The exhibition has already received heaps of positive praise online and even caught the attention of ginger American talk show host Conan O'Brien this week who covered the story on his show.
Talk about 'epic' press coverage. Conan's gargantuan influence in the media/pop culture pretty much guarantees that RED HOT will be a massive success for both downtrodden ginger male's across the world, and their uber talented saviour, Thomas Knights.
For a read of my interview with Thomas from last year. Oh, and in case you think I'm just jumping on a bandwagon, here is proof that I have been smitten with red-haired creatures since, like, forever.
