Portis Wasp's 10 Tips for Relaxing and Unwinding

The wonderful folks at Artesian Spas reached out to me earlier this month to see if I'd like to take part in their Art Spas Says Relax competition and share some tips on how I like to relax and unwind after a busy day in the life of me. And I have to thank them for giving me an easy in to dressing up a self-congratulatory post on my blog as a motivational post for all the less fortunates in the world.

Here are my 10 tips on how to relax and unwind after a long day:

1. It's always important to reflect on the day you've had and thank that higher power for all the blessings he's bestowed upon you over the last 24 hours.

2. A cliche, I know, but running yourself a bath will soothe your achey typing fingers and cleanse you of all those bad thoughts you've built up over the day after accidentally retweeting that Naomi Campbell "malaria" tweet which made you look stupid.

3. As you well know, I have great hair. I try and brush my hair at least 500 times in the mirror every night and double the pleasure by paying myself a new compliment with every brushstroke.

4. You may be relaxing, but its important to let your social media followers know you're still thinking of them. Post a tweet on the hour every hour about how tired you are but that you are only able to continue to do what you do because your followers give you so much strength.

5. I feel duty-bound to show people how my body moves, so its important for me to practice my moves every evening so that they look all kinds of natural in public the following day. What's more, I'm not only shaking off bad joo joo as I dance around my room in my pants, this sick move is also one major calorie buster!

6. Respond to that bitchy text your friend sent you earlier in the day asking why you thought it was more important to go to an opening of an envelope than her Birthday party.  You don't want to have to carry her jealousy towards you into tomorrow.

7. There will be wine.

8. And you can totally have a nibble on something dairy-based.  You've earned it!

9. A little bit of self reflection goes a long way to charging you up for another 24 hours of being your best self.

10.  I only need 7 hours of sleep a night to function at a level so few will ever reach, so if I was to recommend a number of hours for anyone who isn't me...?  A good 10-15 hours should suffice.

And you're welcome!
