Tak.Ori's Christmas Knitwear Collection

After 15 years of working in the luxury fashion business as a sales manager, Svetlana Taccori, Ukranian by birth, Italian by adoption, turned her artistic eye to a new discipline with the launch last year of her luxury knitwear label, Tak.Ori Italy.  Our girl Svetlana has always had a thing for collecting hats and scarves everywhere she goes, but it was following a trip to Cortina when Svetlana had an epiphany to use the pieces in her closet as the basis to set up her own knitwear label! Inspirational business woman of the day much?

In her own words;  “Wool is one of the most versatile yarns out there yet it's not celebrated. I wanted to use the wholesome and pure image of it but add a rebellious and seductive element that's both elegant and fun. In a way, I wanted to revolutionise the fashion knitwear scene and this is my way of rewriting the story of wool."

Way to make wool sound sexy Svetlana!  The resulting collection from Tak.Ori Italy boasts super fun garments like oversized coatigans, comfy sweaters, two-metre long scarves and doubled-faced hats that are all akin to wearing a Pinterest page full of contradicting patterns and colours. Her designs won't be to everyone's liking of course, but her use of bold patterns, fanciful florals with vibrant colurs on fluffy kid-mohair, cashmere and virgin wool make for a style statement that will have all the boys and girls round your yard trippin' out their minds.  And not only will you be wearing an item that will feel and look like something heaven sent, Svetlana's designs are so fresh and modern that crowds of people will literally be crossing the road to avoid looking basic in your presence.

Using a strong colour palette inspired by French portraitist Françoise Nielly, the base wintery whites and blues in this Christmas collection have pops of fluorescent pinks, yellows and green mixed in, ideal for being spotted on the slopes!  Consider me sleighed by this brand's brilliance.
