20 Years of 55DSL: Watch the documentary now!

Founded in 1994 as an experimental street-wear division of the Diesel brand, 55DSL has defined itself over the last 20 years as a major contributor to the global action sports scene. And with its roots based in fuelling creativity, it is no surprise that 55DSL has provided countless opportunities for young talent over the years to showcase their work on a global platform, with collaborations ranging from t-shirts to films and jackets to prints. It's a brand with a rich history for sure, and one that would really lend itself to a cheeky wee documentary... Don't you think?

Well you’re in luck. With 55DSL now entering a temporary hiatus, the brand has taken a beat to pause and reflect on the past two decades and all that they have accomplished. Produced utilising a sprawling archive sourced from various formats (DV and VHS tapes, projector slides, polaroids and DVDs) coupled with newly shot interviews with key players from the 55DSL family, as well as a bespoke soundtrack (of course!),  '20 Years of 55DSL' charts the brand’s progression from an exclusively action-sports orientated line through to its transformation into a full street-wear range. Take a look at the Trailer below...

Brilliant, right? Obviously, I could quite happily watch Andrea Rosso all day with the sound muted and still come away feeling blessed but this does look like a really good time had. With contributions from Gavin Watson, Joel Tudor, Alex Fakso, and Andre himself over the course of the documentary, as well as the promise of 55DSL's most interesting collaborations, like their ground-breaking ‘Kids in Italia’ short-film series, limited edition t-shirt line ‘10.55’ (home to designs by over 70 artists), and proto-reality TV competition ‘Junior Lucky Bastard’, getting some good air time, you're in for a right ole treat.

So, what are you waiting for? Click here to watch the full length 20 Years of 55DSL documentary.
