Portis Wasp featured on Interview Germany, talks collages, inspirations and Instagram faves

Last week I answered a few questions for Interview Germany about my collages, inspirations and favourite Instagram (obvi).  Super chuffed to have so many great publications reaching out to me about my collages at the moment, and it was an absolute treat to chat to Niklas from Interview about my work.  As our chat has been published in German, here is the English translated text from our conversation:

What inspired you to use Disney motives for your pictures?
I was chatting one day with a friend (photographer Scott Teitler) about what kind of collages I should make with some of his photos and we had both liked an illustration we’d both seen of a naked guy doing yoga with some fluffy bunny friends. I’m not sure how long after our chat it was before I started using Disney imagery but I guess that’s when I first thought about mixing something comical with images that were a little more provocative.

Did you ever receive a response (bad or good) from one of the famous people you have shown in your pics?
The response online has been overwhelmingly positive I’m pleased to say, with the likes of Gigi Hadid, Steven Klein, Edward Enninful, Katie Grand, Lily Aldridge and Pietro Boselli all sharing my collages on Instagram! To see that these industry professionals like my collages enough to share them with their fans is such a compliment.

How long does it take to create one of your collages?
It really depends. What takes the most time is deciding what kind of image I’d like to create for my Instagram and what Disney elements to use. The actual putting together of the collage doesn’t take so long and if it’s a commission I’m working on, again, it’s about making sure I’m on the same page with the client from the start.

What’s your favorite Disney movie?
Tangled is a very entertaining movie. Forever living for Pascal the chameleon rolling his eyes!

What makes a man attractive / What makes a woman attractive for you?
Confidence. I’m never been the most confident person, so I definitely find it an attractive trait in others. Failing that, a good retoucher! ;-)

Which accounts are your favorite?
I’m absolutely obsessed with @petstylistt! He’s a professional pet stylist who films himself cutting his client’s hair. The dogs are always so well behaved in his salon and I think it’s just the best thing ever. I also love the artist @sainthoax who posts lots of funny pop culture imagery.
