It's been a couple of years since I last owned a pair of Nike Air Max, and I think the main reason for that is that a. the Air Max is quite a bulky trainer and b. once I'd ordered a pair of adidas' ZX flux's on a whim a couple of years ago, I got way too used to feeling like I was walking on air. They really are such a light trainer and as a result I now own quite a few pairs.
I did still miss my Nike's though (maybe it's the novelty bubble?), which is why when I stumbled across these Air Max 1 Ultra SE's in the shade "wolf grey" I couldn't resist giving them a go. Not only did I like the look of the woven mesh and perforated detail on the toe, the trainer also looked like it might be pretty lightweight. And I was right. Not only are these trainers super lightweight, they also look far superior to the last pair I owned in that this style feels more like a casual style statement rather than a shoe to train in. Don't get me wrong, I'd happily wear these to the gym or a class, but I think I'll most likely wear them with jeans. The wolf grey colour is also really nice and means your trainers are likely to go with most other items in your wardrobe. I can't speak for yours, but my wardrobe is mostly filled with blacks and greys anyway.
At £110, I think the trainer is also really well priced. It's a quality trainer that is priced the same as a lot of other Air Max styles, although I feel like for me this will be the style I stick to when it comes time to purchase another pair.
Fancy a pair yourself? I got mine from Mainline Menswear and you can shop this style or plenty others on their website by clicking here.
